Blocking spam in Newsgroups

I have tried to use Newsproxy, but it simply doesn't install on Windows XP 
Pro. Anyway, I was wondering if there was another way to block Google Groups 
in Newsgroups. I use Omea Pro 2.2 but it offers no filtering options.

Any help would be appriciated.
